TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's National Day preparatory committee (國慶籌備委員會) announced Wednesday (Sept. 25) that participating units are intensively rehearsing for the upcoming National Day celebrations.
The Ministry of National Defense (MND, 國防部) will deploy Sikorsky UH-60M Black Hawk (UH-60M黑鷹直升機) helicopters from Longtan and Hsinchu bases on Thursday morning to conduct flight route inspections over the Bo'ai Special Zone (博愛特區).
The MND stated that the armed forces will use UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters, CH-47SD Chinook military transport aircraft (CH-47SD契努克運輸直升機), Advanced Jet Trainer T-BE5A Brave Eagle (AJT型勇鷹高級教練機), and AIDC AT-3 (AT-3雷虎教練機) for the National Day celebrations. Besides the flight route inspection on Sept. 26, the military plans to conduct a "half-force" training on Oct. 2.
The National Day preparatory committee explained that a "full-force" training will take place on Oct. 4, promising an impressive performance on National Day.
The committee also advised the public not to be alarmed by the loud engine noises as the aircraft fly overhead, encouraging everyone to look up and cheer for the armed forces.
In case of weather disruptions, the committee will reschedule the activities to a backup date and update the latest information on their official website. The public should stay tuned for further announcements.
