TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwanese singer Jody Chiang (江蕙) confirmed her cancer diagnosis and chemotherapy treatment on Tuesday (Sept. 10). Chiang revealed her health took a significant turn before her 2015 "Blessing" concert, leading to her cancer diagnosis and subsequent chemotherapy.
Chiang discussed her ongoing treatment, stating she has spent considerable time in the hospital, which has become her second home. She faced life-threatening conditions, including pulmonary embolism and severe bleeding, amid surgeries and repeated chemotherapy sessions.
Throughout her battle with cancer, Chiang expressed gratitude to her medical team for their unwavering support and positivity, which helped her maintain a cheerful outlook. She credited their encouragement for enabling her to face her illness bravely.
After a nine-year hiatus, Chiang will return to the stage on Oct. 5 at the Taipei Dome's National Day concert. Much to the anticipation of her fans, the Taipei City Government plans to open ticket reservations in late September.
