TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense (MND, 國防部) reported on Thursday (Sept. 5) that 14 People's Liberation Army (PLA) aircraft, seven People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) vessels, and two official ships operated around the Taiwan Strait were detected up until 6 a.m.
The defense ministry noted that 13 of the aircraft crossed the median line and entered Taiwan's northern, southwestern, and eastern ADIZ.
MND's data revealed that 11 PLA aircraft operated near the median line, with 10 crossing it. One aircraft appeared in the southwestern ADIZ, and a helicopter operated in the eastern ADIZ. Another helicopter was spotted in the northern ADIZ.
On Wednesday, the ministry stated that since Tuesday, it had detected Chinese military landing exercises in Fujian's Dacheng Bay using fighters and amphibious ships. These exercises included joint landing drills with amphibious ships and roll-on/roll-off vessels.
The ministry also reported that various Chinese aircraft, including main and auxiliary fighters, helicopters, and drones, supported the exercises near Fujian's Dacheng Bay. In response, the ministry emphasized that the Taiwanese military closely monitored these activities using CAP aircraft, Navy vessels, and coastal missile systems.
