TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Ministry of National Defense (MND, 國防部) reported on Tuesday (Aug. 13) that it detected 15 PLA aircraft and 11 PLAN vessels in the vicinity of the Taiwan Strait from 6 a.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday. Eleven aircraft crossed the median line and entered the southwestern and eastern ADIZ.
The ROC Armed Forces closely monitored the situation, deploying CAP aircraft, Navy vessels, and Coastal Missile Systems.
The Ministry also illustrated PLA air activities, showing that a day earlier, from 7:44 a.m. to 9:28 p.m., 12 PLA aircraft, including primary and auxiliary fighters and helicopters, were detected in the Taiwan Strait airspace. Eight aircraft crossed the median line, some coming within 60 nautical miles of Eluanbi (鵝鑾鼻).
Additionally, on the same day, from 10:04 a.m. to 4:10 p.m., two helicopters were detected in the southwestern airspace, also within 60 nautical miles of Eluanbi. Later, from 4:50 p.m. to 6:49 p.m., one helicopter was detected in the eastern airspace, about 90 nautical miles from Hualien.
