TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Olympic boxing bronze medalist Chen Nien-chin (陳念琴) and actor Hsieh Kun-da (坤達) teamed up on Tuesday (Aug. 20) as ambassadors for the 2024 National Sports Day (國民體育日), urging the public to adopt regular exercise habits.
Hsieh shared that although he and Chen met for the first time on the day they filmed the commercial, they quickly bonded over their love of sports.
Director-General Cheng Shih-chung (鄭世忠) of the Sports Administration (體育署) stated that the government is preparing to establish a new ministry that promotes sports and physical education (體育暨運動發展部). He shared that the government significantly promotes an exercise culture among all citizens.
On Sept. 9, the 2024 National Sports Day will feature free access to all national sports centers and public sports facilities across Taiwan. Also, September will see a series of free fitness assessments, with events not only in the north, central, and south regions but also in the east, inviting everyone to enjoy a healthy lifestyle.
