KAOHSIUNG (TVBS News) — Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai (陳其邁) announced on Tuesday (Aug. 13) that he has invited Taiwanese singer Jody Chiang (江蕙) to perform in Kaohsiung, hoping she will return to the stage. Chen, a fan of Chiang, expressed his excitement about her potential comeback.
During a press interview before a municipal meeting, Chen revealed that he had extended a warm invitation to Chiang to hold her concert at the Kaohsiung Arena (K-Arena, 高雄巨蛋). He believes the southern city would be the perfect location for her comeback concert.
The Kaohsiung mayor emphasized that the city government would provide the best services for fans and Chiang if she could perform in Kaohsiung.
Meanwhile, Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an expressed his desire for Chiang to perform at the Taipei Dome (台北大巨蛋). Kaohsiung and Taipei city governments have reportedly explored the possibility of hosting her comeback concert.
Chiang held several farewell concerts in 2015 in Taipei and Kaohsiung, with her final performance at the K-Arena. Fans eagerly await further developments regarding her potential return to the stage.
