TAIPEI (TVBS News) — TVBS dispatched a team led by Dimitri Bruyas (龔向華) to cover the quadrennial sports event in Paris in July, with sports anchor Francis Lan (藍于洺) and senior cameraman Yu Hsin-han (余信翰).
Bruyas, proficient in Chinese, English, and French, provides firsthand reports and accurate information by engaging with local interviewees in their native language. He believes that conducting interviews in French more accurately captures the genuine thoughts and feelings of the French and international visitors.
TVBS also collaborated with France's Metropole Télévision, commonly known as Groupe M6, to produce documentaries that incorporate local perspectives. This partnership aims to create a "Taiwan-France media" collaboration mechanism, enriching the cultural context of their reports.
Bruyas, who has French and Belgian heritage, has been rooted in Taiwan's media industry for over 20 years. He emphasized the importance of using French to interview locals for more authentic reportage.
TVBS and M6 also co-produce documentaries on the geopolitical dynamics between the U.S., China, and Taiwan, focusing on their impact on the global semiconductor industry.
They recently visited Hsinchu to interview Arculus System's chairman, James Yang (楊健盟), who stated, "Taiwan's semiconductor industry is not a passive 'silicon shield' to protect Taiwan, but rather an important key to developing foreign markets and assisting in the establishment of high-tech or semiconductor-related industries in different international regions."
TVBS News Deputy Director-General Hua Yang (楊樺) mentioned plans to expand direct collaborations with other European media. This initiative aims to promote global media exchanges and enhance TVBS News' international influence under the existing ENEX Taiwan-exclusive cooperation framework.
