TAIPEI (TVBS News) — President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) on Thursday (July 18) emphasized the 2024 Junior Chamber International World Congress's (2024國際青年商會世界大會) potential to unite global leaders in Taiwan to drive positive change and create a better world.
At the Presidential Office, President Lai met with the international and Taiwanese members of the organizing committee, including JCI President Kaveen Kumar Kumaravel. He highlighted the Taiwan-hosted congress's theme, "Technological Innovation for a Prosperous and Sustainable Future," which will bring together over 6,000 participants from 120 countries in October.
President Lai stressed the congress's importance in allowing young leaders from around the world to focus on entrepreneurship, green economy, and carbon reduction. He believes the event will consolidate efforts in Taiwan to foster impactful changes globally.
He praised JCI Taiwan (國際青商會中華民國總會) for its long-standing commitment to public affairs and its annual "Ten Outstanding Young Persons" selection, encouraging young people to contribute even more to society.
President Lai expressed his pleasure in welcoming JCI President Kumaravel to Taiwan and thanked him for facilitating the event's organization. He also extended his gratitude to JCI-Chungli (中壢國際青年商會) for successfully securing the hosting rights. He wished for a fruitful congress and a successful visit.
