TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Authorities will conduct the No. 47 Wan An Exercise (萬安47號演習) in Taiwan in late July. The drill, scheduled to begin in the central region on July 22, will extend to the northern region on July 23, and conclude in the southern region on July 25, running from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. each day.
Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) announced on Monday (July 15) that shuttle buses, express buses, and taxis servicing affected stations will temporarily halt operations during the exercise. However, high-speed trains will maintain their regular schedules, and ticket sales and passenger gate operations will continue as usual.
Officials advise passengers traveling to stations within the exercise zones to arrive early to avoid delays. Those departing during the drill should follow guidance from the military, police, and station personnel and wait at the station if needed.
The exercise will affect Miaoli (苗栗), Taichung (台中), Changhua (彰化), Yunlin (雲林), and Chiayi (嘉義) stations on July 22. On July 23, it will impact Nangang (南港), Taipei (台北), Banqiao (板橋), Taoyuan (桃園), and Hsinchu (新竹) stations. Finally, Tainan (台南) and Zuoying (左營) stations will experience the drill on July 25.
Travelers should plan accordingly to ensure smooth journeys during the exercise period. The public can expect updates and further instructions from THSR and local authorities.
