TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Severe thunderstorms prompted Songshan Airport (松山機場) to suspend ground operations at 1:35 p.m. on Wednesday (July 10). This weather disruption may delay several flights.
The Central Weather Administration (CWA, 中央氣象署) issued a heavy rain warning for nine counties, including Taipei City (台北市), New Taipei City (新北市), and Taoyuan City (桃園市). The CWA also released real-time severe thunderstorm alerts for these areas.
The Civil Aviation Administration (CAA, 交通部民航局) advised travelers and those picking up passengers to monitor flight status updates. The CAA advises visitors to check with airlines for flight-related issues.
The CAA noted that airports with flights connected to Songshan Airport will also experience delays. The CAA has instructed related aviation terminals to inform passengers through bulletin boards, scrolling text, and broadcasts. The latest flight information is available on the official website.
Travelers should stay informed about their flight schedules and prepare for potential delays, the administration warned.
