KAOHSIUNG (TVBS News) — The Agriculture Bureau of the Kaohsiung City Government announced Monday (July 8) that Kaohsiung City holds the highest market share in Taiwan's guava market. Officials aim to boost guava sales through tasting events in domestic and international supermarkets.
By the end of May 2024, Kaohsiung City exported 740 metric tons of guavas. The government is actively expanding the overseas market for guavas and mangoes, promoting products on local e-commerce platforms and in domestic supermarkets.
By the end of June 2024, Kaohsiung supplied 8,000 metric tons of guavas to the domestic wholesale market. The city's guava export markets include North America, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Macau.
The Agriculture Bureau collaborated with traders in Canada, conducting tasting events at Tops Supermarket and listing products on local e-commerce platforms to increase Kaohsiung guava's visibility in the North American market. They recently held 27 marketing events in supermarkets across Canada and New Zealand to promote guavas and mangoes.
The Agriculture Bureau highlighted the superior quality of Kaohsiung's guavas and mangoes. Consumers can order farm-fresh products directly from "The Best of Kaohsiung" (https://www.khagri.org.tw/).
