TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The latest world badminton rankings from Statminton, revealed on Monday (July 8), have placed Taiwan's Tai Tzu-ying (戴資穎) at No. 3 in women's singles with 92,221 points, maintaining her position. These rankings will serve as the basis for seeding in the upcoming Paris Olympics.

Tai, poised to enter the Olympics as the No. 3 seed, aims to secure her first Olympic gold in what is anticipated to be her final appearance. The Olympic draw will be revealed on Friday (July 12). The top 10 women's singles rankings remain unchanged, led by South Korea's An Se-young, followed by China's Chen Yufei (陳雨菲) and Spain's Carolina Marin.

Thailand's Busanan Ongbamrungphan surged to No. 15 after winning the Canada Open, claiming the top spot among Thai players. Denmark's Line Kjærsfeldt climbed to No. 19 after finishing as runner-up. Japan's former world No. 1, Nozomi Okuhara, advanced to No. 12, showing potential for a top-10 comeback.

Among other Taiwanese players, Sung Shuo-yun (宋碩芸) remains at No. 23, Hsu Wen-hui (許玟琪) moved up to No. 25, and Pai Yu-po (白馭珀) holds steady at No. 28. The badminton community eagerly awaits the Olympic draw, which could significantly impact the competition's dynamics.
