TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) directed Taiwan Power Company on Monday (July 2) not to proceed with payments for electricity purchases until judicial confirmations of legality and an electricity business license are secured. On the same day, the Energy Administration informed the Tainan City Government of possible forgeries in the land review process for Ysolar Group's solar power plants in Tainan, as highlighted in the indictment.
The MOEA's Energy Administration stated that applicants must accurately complete necessary permit documents. It warned that using forged documents leading officials to record falsehoods will result in legal consequences and won’t be overlooked by authorities.
Regarding Ysolar's project in Tainan, the MOEA urged the local government to verify the legality of the process and documents. The ministry will take appropriate actions based on these findings and judicial rulings. It stressed that no electricity business licenses have been issued for the Ysolar Group sites in Qigu, preventing any payments for electricity by the Taiwan Power Company.
The ministry also emphasized its commitment to pursue legal action against any illegalities found in the application processes for photovoltaic projects, assuring that it will revoke any relevant permits and licenses without leniency.
