TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Premier Cho Jung-tai (卓榮泰) outlined his administration's priorities in his first policy address to the Legislative Yuan (立法院) on Friday (May 31), emphasizing the anti-fraud strategy and the "National Project of Hope" as the blueprint for propelling the nation forward.

Before entering the Legislative Yuan, Cho responded to media questions about the tension between the ruling and opposition parties, stating, "It doesn't seem that tense. Over these days, I feel the interaction between the executive and legislative branches is promising."

"As for the key points of the policy address, I will report to our citizens one by one under the National Project of Hope's philosophy on how we plan to promote and plan national projects in the short, medium, and long term. We ask for everyone's support and encouragement in the hope of a good start in our interaction," he added.

Innovative Measures and Legislative Support
During his administrative report, Cho announced the government's plan to draft the "Next-Generation Anti-Fraud Strategy Guidelines, version 2.0" as soon as possible, aiming to enhance the capacity to fully combat fraud.

He urged the Legislative Yuan to expedite the review and passage of four new anti-fraud laws submitted by the Executive Yuan.

"We will safeguard a stable and just society by drafting the Next-Generation Anti-Fraud Strategy Guidelines, version 2.0’ in the shortest time possible, and by adopting measures such as establishing an ‘Anti-fraud reporting network’ to fully enhance fraud prevention capacity," Premier Cho said.

Furthermore, Cho revealed his role as the convener of the "April 3 Hualien Earthquake Special Task Force" to assist earthquake victims in getting their lives back on track, with the Executive Yuan increasing the total reconstruction budget to nearly NT$30 billion based on actual needs.

A Net-Zero Future and Moderate Political Strategy
Cho also highlighted the government's commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, including plans to invest NT$900 billion by 2030 to guide domestic and international green investments, transforming the challenge of climate change into an opportunity for green growth.

Prior to today’s session, Cho met with Legislative Speaker Han Kuo-yu, seeking support for his proposals on pressing yet uncontroversial issues under the opposition-led parliament.

With President Lai Ching-te at the helm of a minority government, Cho's calm demeanor is expected to smooth communications between the executive and legislative bodies, potentially securing backing from the opposition for upcoming legislative efforts.
