TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The 2024 Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) All-Star Games are set to bring baseball excitement to the Taipei Dome on July 20 and 21. This year's event marks a significant shift as it moves indoors, promising fans a rain-free experience, a welcome change after last year's weather-related disruptions.
At the press event on Monday (May 13), CPBL commissioner Tsai Chi-chang (蔡其昌) reflected on the previous year's challenges, noting the heavy losses and hardships fans faced due to rain.
"This time, it's finally resolved. With the Taipei Dome, the All-Star Games will be held there for the first time. Fans no longer need to worry about the rain; they can enjoy the game inside the dome," Tsai said.
This move to an indoor venue is a strategic decision to enhance the fan experience and avoid the weather issues that plagued last year's event.
The 2024 edition will feature six teams, promising to elevate the competition and excitement levels. "With more tickets available, it should be easier for fans to purchase them," Tsai stated.
The All-Star Games will pit the World Baseball Classic's top 12 Chinese Taipei team against a CPBL All-Star team, with team members selected through fan voting.
CPBL announced that the voting for the All-Star team members starts Tuesday (May 14) at noon. This fan participation element adds another layer of engagement, allowing supporters to directly impact the lineup.
