TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) announced on Tuesday (Feb. 27) that it will add 58 additional train services over three consecutive weekends from March 15 to 31, 2024, to cater to mid to late March peak travel periods.
Of these, 35 will be southbound and 23 will be northbound, the THSR added.
THSR's decision is in anticipation of the early April Tomb Sweeping Day holiday, with many choosing to do tomb sweeping visits earlier. Tickets can be purchased starting from March 1.
The THSR said it will add 16 more services on Saturdays, March 23 and March 30, to assist passengers traveling to and from the Yunlin, Chiayi, and Tainan areas.
It also indicated that it will schedule overnight train No. 1296 departing from Kaohsiung's Zuoying Station at 10:35 p.m. on Sundays, March 24 and 31.
Passengers can buy tickets through the "T-EX Mobile Ticketing" application, partner convenience stores, online reservation systems, or directly at station ticket windows and automatic ticket machines.
