TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The farewell ceremony for human rights lawyer and Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) legislative candidate Chen Chun-han was held at the Hsinchu City Mortuary Services Office on Tuesday (Feb. 27).
Kyle Logue, dean of Chen's alma mater, the University of Michigan Law School, expressed eternal remembrance of Chen in a eulogy.
Distinguished Professor Lin Chih-chieh of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University revealed a day earlier that she had received Logue's eulogy on Feb. 25, eulogizing Chen as a beloved member of the university.
Logue hoped the eulogy could be read at Chen's farewell ceremony, allowing more people to know the admiration and reluctance the students and faculty of the University of Michigan held for him, Lin shared.
During his studies, Chen showed fervor for his research, actively participated in courses, and was particularly committed to discussing human rights issues.
Logue said Chen's research aimed to improve the situation of the disabled in Taiwan from legal, policy, and other perspectives.
He also mentioned that the faculty, staff, and students of the University of Michigan Law School all remembered Chen's smiles, sense of humor, interaction with classmates, and curiosity for knowledge, and will always remember Chen.
