Kate Napolitana, a student with the National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLIY) from California, highlighted TiBE's role in fostering a love for reading, especially among children. She emphasized its impact on encouraging reading skills and enjoyment among youngsters.
Sun Richardson, also part of NSLIY from Colorado, echoed Napolitana's views, emphasizing TiBE's cultural exchange opportunities and the diverse literature available, enabling Taiwanese readers to explore different cultures.
Filip Onycher, a college student from Poland, raised concerns about declining reading habits amid digital distractions. He stressed the importance of reading in enhancing empathy and understanding, noting its role in shaping individuals' perspectives.
Danny Beuerbach, a hairdresser from Munich, Germany, shared his initiative of incentivizing reading in his salon to combat excessive screen time among children. He highlighted the need for alternative activities to digital devices.
