TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei's renowned shopping hub, Dihua Street, has transformed into a bustling New Year market ahead of the Lunar New Year, attracting crowds of eager shoppers.

Vendors are vibrant, offering a diverse range of products, from dried goods and snacks to Spring Festival couplets and red envelopes — catering to all Lunar New Year essentials.

To accommodate those who wish to avoid crowds, Dihua Street's New Year market is accessible on various delivery platforms this year, consolidating multiple stores in dedicated sections. Business owners emphasized the convenience for elderly individuals with limited mobility.

This year also introduces free shuttle services, raising expectations for robust festive shopping. With the economy on the upswing, it is projected that the total revenue will surpass NT$1.6 billion.

Even beyond the festive season, exploring the traditional Dihua Street promises a rich cultural experience, offering a glimpse into Taiwan's heritage while discovering treasures in tea, fabric, and traditional Chinese medicinal herbs.

From Jan. 26 to Feb. 8, the Dihua New Year market radiates its warmest and most auspicious festive ambiance to all visitors.
