KAOHSIUNG (TVBS News) — British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran is set to perform a concert on Saturday (Feb 3) at Kaohsiung, with doors opening to fans at 4 p.m.
The event will start with an opening act by British singer Calum Scott at 7 p.m., followed by Sheeran taking the stage at 8 p.m.
Shortly after wrapping up his concert in Japan on Jan. 31, Sheeran charted a private flight to Kaohsiung to prepare for the next stage of his global tour.
Sheeran arrived in Kaohsiung yesterday afternoon from Japan and was spotted interacting with fans.
In 2023, Sheeran made history by breaking the record for the most streams in the UK, becoming the first recipient of the Gold BRIT Billion Award.
His forthcoming gig is his first in the southern Taiwan city, which will accommodate over 50,000 fans.
Equipment needed for the concert was shipped from Japan on two chartered cargo planes. The massive scale of the concert makes it a unique occasion for Sheeran's first performance in Kaohsiung.
