TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Premier Chen Chien-jen expressed his desire on Tuesday (Jan. 30) to return to academic research at the Academia Sinica post-May 20, a preference he has always held dear.
When asked about possible reappointment, Chen indicated his confidence that President-elect Lai Ching-te had made well-thought-out arrangements for all cabinet positions, aligning with the people's expectations.
"Academic research has always been my passion; I hope to return to the Academia Sinica after May 20 to continue serving humanity through my academic pursuits," said Premier Chen.
President-elect Lai spoke about his upcoming cabinet formation on a live-streamed program a day earlier, affirming his intention to recruit capable individuals for cabinet minister positions and heads of various agencies, irrespective of their political affiliation.
