TAIPEI (TVBS News) — LINE Pay, a mobile payment provider, surged in Friday's (Jan. 26) over-the-counter market debut, as shares jumped 195% from the listing price of NT$348 to a record high of NT$1030.
According to its financial documents, the company's capital is NT$600 million, with earnings per share of NT$8.04 in 2022.
LINE Pay boasted a 2022 revenue of NT$3.62 billion, reflecting four years of consistent growth.
The payment provider, which broke into the Taiwanese market nine years ago in 2015, predicts revenue will reach NT$4.78 billion in 2023, an increase of over NT$1 billion.
LINE Pay has established over 500,000 payment locations, with active users surpassing 7 million out of some 12 million customers in Taiwan.
The company highlighted that nearly one in two people in Taiwan is a LINE Pay user.
Regarding revenue share in 2023, around 83% came from transaction fee income, 12% from financial promotion collaborations, and 5% from marketing product sales, per LINE Pay's statement.
