KAOHSIUNG (TVBS News) — In Kaohsiung, a trial inflation test marked the imminent return of the giant rubber duck to the Love River Bay on Tuesday (Jan. 23).

The artwork by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman, which first graced the city's Glory Pier in 2013, is set for its much-anticipated return after a decade.

Standing at 18 meters tall, the duck drew an audience of over 3.9 million during its initial 32-day display. As the creative team finalizes preparations, local businesses are seizing the chance for an economic upswing.

A nearby hotel has already embraced the theme, inflating a sizable rubber duck and scattering smaller counterparts for guest photos in anticipation of Saturday's main event.

Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai has confirmed that the duck will be on display from Jan. 27 to Feb. 25, offering ample time for visitors to enjoy the spectacle during the festive period.
