TAOYUAN (TVBS News) — Presidential candidate Ko Wen-je of the Taiwan People's Party (TPP) embarked on a campaign tour in Taoyuan on Wednesday (Jan. 3), conducting a motorcade campaign event alongside legislative candidate Li Mu-yan.
Later in the evening, Ko has plans to host a campaign rally in Pingzhen District to support legislative candidate Lai Hsiang-ling.
Notably, Ko made an unannounced addition to his schedule the day before, with a visit to Hsinchu. While media speculation suggested this unexpected change might be linked to his father's recent fall and injury, Ko has not confirmed this.
Despite unfavorable weather conditions, Ko expressed determination to continue his campaign activities in Taoyuan, encompassing visits to Luzhu Township, Yangmei District, Pingzhen District, and Zhongli District. Additionally, he will attend a photo session with voters at Zhongli Market in the evening.
"Regardless of the weather, we go out," Ko said. He emphasized that the decision of how voters choose to respond is entirely their prerogative, respecting their right to make their own choices.
