TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A new campaign video released on Tuesday (Jan. 2) by the Democratic Progressive Party's (DPP) campaign office showcases President Tsai Ing-wen passing the reigns on to presidential and vice-presidential candidates Lai Ching-te and Hsiao Bi-khim asserting she believes they will "do a better job" at governing Taiwan.
Titled "Together, On the Road," the video shows Tsai driving with Lai, candidly discussing their mutual respect for each other, and later features Tsai symbolically handing over the "keys" to the future of the country to the Lai-Hsiao team.
Directed by renowned filmmaker Lo Ging-zim, advanced virtual studio technology was utilized to depict Tsai and Lai driving through Taiwan's streets and alleys in a poignant tribute to their shared vision for the nation.
In the video, Tsai hands over the car keys to Lai, signifying the transition of power. Equally symbolic is the introduction of Hsiao Bi-khim in the passenger seat, indicating that they will continue Taiwan's journey on the path of democracy and freedom together.
All three individuals in the video have been steadfast members of the administrative team during the DPP's eight years in power. Each has held various posts, tirelessly working for the advancement of Taiwan.
