Police urges New Year

TAIPEI (TVBS News) — With New Year's Eve celebrations approaching, the Taipei City Police Department's Xinyi Precinct has announced the formation of an anti-trampling team in high-density areas near the Taipei 101 fireworks display to ensure safety.

Xinyi Police revealed plans to utilize drone interceptors to deter and force unauthorized drones to land during the event. Mobile police stations will be established at five major venues to provide services such as traffic control, lost and found assistance, and public services.

To prevent stampede incidents, Xinyi Police will deploy anti-trampling teams at key locations including the main stage, Taipei Dome plaza, Xiangshan Hiking Trail, parks, and metro exits.

In the event of an emergency evacuation, staff will use LED signs, megaphones, whistles, and strong lighting equipment to guide the public. Xinyi Police stated that if overcrowding or falling incidents occur, personnel will promptly intervene and contact on-site paramedics for rescue.
