TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan has been identified as one of the key search terms by international travelers on Airbnb's platform, according to the company's 2024 tourism trends report released Tuesday (Dec. 26).
Taiwan's search growth rate was second globally, just behind Japan. However, Airbnb did not release specific numbers regarding Taiwan's growth rate.
Airbnb said in a press release that it expects 2024 to be the year when international travelers embark on world tours.
According to Airbnb, from the first quarter to the third quarter of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, search volume on their platform increased significantly in 10 countries and regions. Japan topped the list with triple the search volume.
Other than Taiwan and Japan, countries and regions such as Albania, Singapore, Finland, the United Arab Emirates, Curaçao, Aruba, Thailand, and Guatemala also saw a rise in interest from Airbnb users.
