TAICHUNG (TVBS News) — Taichung City has introduced its inaugural children's traffic theme park, located adjacent to Quanyuan Park in the East District, as part of its efforts to create distinctive recreational spaces.
Chen Da-tian, Director of the City's Construction Bureau, explained that the Quan Yuan Children's Traffic Theme Park aims to educate children about traffic safety while they engage in play. The park features various learning zones, including miniaturized zebra crossings, scooter waiting areas, railway level crossings, and an area that educates about the blind spots of large vehicles, all designed to enhance children's awareness of pedestrian and vehicular safety.
Parents can use bicycles and scooters with their children within the park, offering a hands-on approach to traffic education. This theme park is a component of Taichung's "Melody Project," which seeks to create unique parks within city districts.
The park, enriched with local historical elements, is conveniently located near elementary schools and kindergartens, serving as an educational resource. Collaborations with nearby schools are in the works to conduct outdoor traffic education classes, fostering early understanding of traffic rules among students and increasing public awareness of traffic safety.
