TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Kuomintang (KMT) presidential candidate Hou Yu-ih expressed his commitment to a brighter future for youth on Tuesday (Dec. 19), emphasizing his pragmatic approach and inviting young voters to support his candidacy.

While he had strong youth support during his mayoral campaign in New Taipei City, currently, only about 10 to 20 percent of young voters back him for the presidency.
Hou is determined to put forward policies for examination to attract young supporters. His initiatives include a million-dollar housing subsidy for encouraging childbirth and tax deductions for companies raising employee salaries.
He stressed the importance of communication with young people to understand their perspectives and concerns for the future.
