TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) unveiled a three-part "winning formula" at their national campaign headquarters on Wednesday (Dec. 20) for their presidential candidate Lai Ching-te and running mate Hsiao Bi-khim.
The strategy aims to rally support across Taiwan leading up to the 2024 elections, with a series of events and initiatives to secure their vision for the country's future. The DPP initiated the press conference on the same day to outline how their leadership would lead Taiwan to victory.
The first element, "Round-Island Puzzle," invites the public to participate in shaping their shared future from Dec. 21-24, involving visits to various counties and cities to discuss future development plans.
Next, the campaign will intensify with the "Stand at Crossroads & Rally Nights," beginning on Jan. 3, 2024. This initiative includes 19 large-scale rallies in multiple locations, starting from Lai's birthplace in New Taipei and expanding to regions such as Hsinchu, Nantou, Changhua, and more, with the final rally on the eve of the elections set in Tainan — where Lai launched his political career — and New Taipei.
last but not least, the "Nationwide Tour" is scheduled to start on Jan. 8, 2024, with Lai and Hsiao taking separate routes across the island to drum up last-minute support.
