TAIPEI (TVBS News) — President Tsai Ing-wen reflected on her tenure and expressed her conviction that unfinished tasks would be effectively continued by Democratic Progressive Party presidential candidate Lai Ching-te and his running mate Hsiao Bi-khim on Saturday (Dec. 16).

After making the statement during a visit to Kaohsiung City's Sanfeng Temple, President Tsai joked about the initial sparse applause, asking "Why is no one clapping?"

The audience responded with spirited applause after she reiterated her confidence in Lai and Hsiao's capabilities to outperform her own efforts.

In her speech, President Tsai also outlined her achievements, highlighting labor insurance reforms and emphasizing her commitment to resolving financial issues related to labor insurance before her term concludes.
