KEELUNG (TVBS News) — In an effort to boost Keelung's cultural scene, Mayor George Hsieh visited the Taipei Music Center on Monday (Dec. 18), where he announced plans for a partnership to bring more artistic and music events to the port city.
During his visit, Hsieh revealed an initiative to establish a professional music venue in Keelung, akin to a live house, that would cater to performers and bands. The chairperson of the music center, Kay Huang, along with her team, gave Hsieh a personal tour, sharing insights into the venue's future direction.
Keelung is hosting its inaugural "Love Keelung Year-End Concert," which will be broadcast on the 3D screen at Aniverse Keelung next to Keelung Railway Station.
In his push for more cross-over performances and pop music concerts, Hsieh mentioned his hope to work with the Taipei Music Center on events reminiscent of the "SoffeeDays" series. This year, Keelung's year-end concert moved indoors this year to avoid the city's usual rainy New Year's weather, aiming to bring a pop music experience to local residents.
The line-up of artists for Keelung's year-end concert includes Amber An, Nine One One, Kimberley Chen, Ailing Tai, and U:NUS, with a second stage set up at Guomen Square to amplify the festive atmosphere for the audience.
