NEW TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Carrefour Market Fuzhong Store in Banqiao District confirmed on Monday (Dec. 18) that it will cease operations on Jan. 14, 2024, due to its expiring lease contract.
Since its grand opening in 2009, the store has been notably operating 24 hours a day, serving the local community for 14 years.
In an official statement, the company indicated that while they plan to search for a new location, once a site is selected, it will announce plans for a grand reopening to the public.
News of the impending closure has sparked a flurry of discussion among residents in the vicinity, with customers expressing their disappointment, especially those who rely on its round-the-clock services.
One customer commented, "It's such a pity about the 24-hour operation; it fits my late-night off-work schedule perfectly," while another added, "The business is always bustling... it's quite shocking."
