TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an expressed gratitude to Taipei First Girls High School (TFG) as they celebrated their 120th anniversary on Tuesday (Dec. 12). The occasion marked the unveiling of the restored Kuang Fu Building, a historic landmark on the campus.
During the event, Mayor Chiang praised the school and shared that the Taipei City Government had contributed over NT$100 million to support the restoration project.
Chiang humorously recalled admiring TFG from outside its gates when he was a student at Taipei Municipal Jianguo High School. Now, as mayor, he appreciated the opportunity to visit and interact with the TFG community.
In addition, Chiang highlighted a collaboration between TFG and EasyCard Corporation, resulting in the "TFG 120th Green Uniform EasyCard," which plays the school's anthem upon use. EasyCard Corporation will donate 10% of the card's revenue to charity.
The anniversary celebration also brought together a diverse group of alumnae, including those spanning 70 years and mother-daughter pairs, along with TFG alumnae from Chiang's own graduation year.
