TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Examination Yuan has donated 6,600 books in Chinese and English to support library services in Taiwanese schools abroad, with the Surabaya Taipei School in Indonesia expressing gratitude as one of the recipients.
Director-General Li Yen-i of the Ministry's International and Cross-strait Education Department emphasized on Thursday (Dec. 7) the competitiveness of overseas students in Taiwanese schools, highlighting their language and cross-cultural strengths.
Li hoped the book donation would foster a sense of connection to Taiwan among overseas students and promote collaboration between international Taiwanese institutions and government bodies.
The donated books cover various subjects, catering to students of different ages and aiming to expand their knowledge.
Leaders and parents of overseas Taiwanese schools anticipate that these resources will enhance students' learning and collaboration with the government on global talent development.
