TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A poll released by My Formosa Online on Tuesday (Dec. 5) shows a rebound in support for the Democratic Progressive Party's (DPP) "Lai-Hsiao ticket," with a lead of 38% over other contenders.
The survey indicates the Koumintang's (KMT) "Hou-Kang ticket" following in second place, holding 31.7% of voter support. The Taiwan People's Party's (TPP) "Ko-Ying ticket" has experienced a decline, capturing only 14.9%.
Initially, Hou Yu-ih of the KMT and Ko Wen-je from the TPP saw an uptick in their numbers while speculation continued over a potential KMT-TPP joint ticket. Meanwhile, the figures of DPP candidate Lai Ching-te were weakening.
However, as the prospect of a KMT-TPP alliance fell through and each of the three campaign teams announced their vice-presidential candidates, Lai's numbers began to stabilize. Concurrently, support for the non-ruling parties witnessed a downward trajectory.
