TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan People's Party (TPP) presidential candidate Ko Wen-je stressed on Monday (Nov. 13) the need to swiftly resolve the alliance issues with the Kuomintang (KMT).

"Time is running out, and we can't delay this any longer. We might need to settle this within one or two days," said Ko, who also chairs the TPP.

Ko expressed his desire for a transparent negotiation process in his upcoming meeting with KMT chairman Eric Chu, and invited former President Ma Ying-jeou to act as a witness.

During a visit to the Zhushan Zinan Temple in Nantou County, when questioned by reporters about the potential collaboration between the KMT and the TPP, Ko highlighted that while there was consensus on collaboration at various levels, disagreements persisted regarding the combination of presidential candidates.

Ko reiterated his insistence on transparency in the meeting with Chu and believed that Ma's involvement as a witness would add credibility to the entire process.

Both Ma and former Kaohsiung Mayor Han Kuo-yu have endorsed using a public opinion survey to decide the final presidential ticket.

Chu acknowledged the mutual agreement on conducting a public opinion poll between the KMT and TPP. He noted, however, that the specifics and rules of the proposed survey require further discussion and negotiation.
