TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taichung Mayor Lu Shiow-yen declared on Saturday (Nov. 11) her readiness to support a potential coalition between the Kuomintang (KMT) and the Taiwan People's Party (TPP), provided they reach a consensus.
With the election registration deadline looming in less than two weeks, the specifics of the proposed "Blue-White" coalition between the KMT and the TPP remain unsettled. Highlighting the urgency of the situation, Lu called for a quick resolution to establish a cooperative framework between the two parties.
Addressing speculation about a nationwide poll potentially benefiting TPP presidential candidate Ko Wen-je, Lu stated her openness to any method of collaboration that both parties find agreeable, affirming her willingness to assist in the process.
Speaking on the topic of elections, the Taichung mayor emphasized that opinion polls do not always accurately predict electoral outcomes. She reflected on her own experiences in politics, noting that she has secured election victories in the past despite facing unfavorable poll numbers.
Lu shared these remarks while campaigning in Kaohsiung for legislative candidate Chung I-chung.
