KAOHSIUNG (TVBS News) — British band Coldplay attracted a record number of nearly 85,000 attendees to their concert at the Kaohsiung National Stadium on Saturday (Nov. 11), exceeding the attendance at the BLACKPINK concert in March 2023, according to real-time data.
In a social media post that day, Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai revealed an unprecedented high of 84,858 individuals within the stadium's vicinity, breaking its previous records.
Following the concert, transport authorities reduced the metro frequency to three minutes to disperse the large crowd, which took 82 minutes to completely clear the crowds at the stadium, according to the Transportation Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government (TBKC).
Among a total daily transportation volume of around 266,000, the bureau also indicated an estimated 30,000 people took the city's metro to the concert venue on Saturday.
With Coldplay scheduled for a two-day performance, the TBKC encouraged concertgoers to take public transportation due to traffic control near the concert venue.
