Twinnen in Taiwan: Discover Taipei’s nocturnal charm (TVBS News)
Join the "Twinnen in Taiwan" — a vlog about the life of two exchange students from San Francisco in Taiwan — on a nocturnal journey through Taipei, starting with the Maokong Gondola, marveling at Taipei 101, savoring delicacies at Din Tai Fung, and experiencing the vibrant Linjiang Night Market. Discover the sights and flavors of Taipei after sunset.

To beat the summer heat in Taipei, we embarked on a nocturnal adventure, starting with a sunset ride on the Maokong Gondola, followed by a visit to Taipei 101, a meal at Din Tai Fung, and concluding with street food at the Linjiang Night Market.

Our journey began on the Maokong Gondola, offering stunning views during a thirty-minute ride with stops at the Taipei Zoo, Zhinan Temple, and the tea-famous village of Maokong. At the Maokong Tea House, we delighted in ice cream flavored with Baozhong and Tieguanyin teas, enjoying the unique tastes of the region.

After descending from Maokong, we headed to Taipei 101, an architectural marvel and the tallest building in Taiwan. The building's design, reminiscent of a bamboo stalk and a pagoda, offered breathtaking views from its 91st-floor outdoor observation deck and 89th-floor indoor viewing area, complete with tourist attractions.

Dinner at Din Tai Fung in the basement of Taipei 101 was a culinary highlight. Known globally for their xiao long bao, the restaurant lived up to its reputation. Our meal included an assortment of dishes, with the standout being the chocolate xiao long bao.

Despite feeling full, we continued to the Linjiang Night Market. This bustling market, featuring four Michelin Bib Gourmand-listed street food stalls, offered an array of local delicacies. We tried stinky tofu, tofu and duck, clams, and tangyuan, with the latter being our favorite due to its unique combination of hot and cold elements.

After a brief shopping stop, our night concluded, leaving us tired but satisfied with the rich culinary and cultural experiences of Taipei.
