TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Institute for National Defense and Security Research (INDSR) will hold the "2023 Taipei Security Dialogue" on Wednesday (Nov. 8), inviting Michele Flournoy, former U.S. Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, and Matthew Pottinger, former U.S. Deputy National Security Advisor, to discuss on the prospect of collective intimidation held by Indo-Pacific nations.

In virtual speeches, Flournoy and Pottinger are expected to share views on how to measure the risks and situations in the Taiwan Strait.

 

The institute revealed it has invited influential scholars and experts from 10 countries, such as the U.S., U.K., Germany, France, Czech Republic, and Japan, to discuss China's challenges to global order and democracy.

The dialogue is divided into six themes: "Lessons from the Russo-Ukrainian War and Strategies for Deterring China," "China's Challenges to the Global Order and the Democracy and Appropriate Responses,""Implications of the Russo-Ukrainian War for Cross-Strait Relations,""Chinese Military and Technological Development and Challenges," "China's Global Expansion and Its Security Implications," and "Strategic Environmental Assessment of China."

President Tsai Ing-wen is also scheduled to deliver a speech at the event.
