TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The 21st Taiwan Pride Parade is estimated to have 153,000 people attending on Saturday (Oct. 28).
This year's theme, "Stand with Diversity," aims to heighten understanding of the needs and struggles of varying identities and the potential of unity and support within our diverse society.
The rainbow market kicked off the much-anticipated annual event with more than 120 stalls and 24 NGOs participating in the festivities.
President Fletcher Hong of the Taiwan Rainbow Civil Action Association expressed his hope for a society that allows for freedom of identity, unhindered by stereotypes.
This year's Rainbow Ambassador Kimberley Chen, along with singers Enno Cheng, Chang RuoFan, the band Neci Ken, and Drag Queen Draggy Boo Boo, were invited to perform at this year's Pride event. The popular boy band VERA will also join the stage, celebrating diversity alongside the participants in a day of unity and acceptance.
