TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense (MND) reported on Sunday (Oct. 15) that from Saturday at 6 a.m. to this morning at 6 a.m., nine Chinese aircraft and five warships were detected operating around the Taiwan Strait.
Two SU-30 fighter jets entered Taiwan's north Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) after crossing the median line of the Taiwan Strait, according to the "Flight Paths of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) aircraft" diagram released by Taiwan's Air Force earlier that day.
In a Sunday press release, the MND emphasized that the armed forces are strictly monitoring and responding to the situation using mission aircraft, ships, and shore-based missile systems.
