TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Ko Wen-je's campaign office spokesperson Tai Yu-wen, said on Wednesday (Oct. 11) that close communication between Taiwan People's Party (TPP) and Kuomintang (KMT) is ongoing but expressed the hope of establishing a transparent and open collaboration and called for timely responses from the KMT.
KMT presidential candidate Hou Yu-ih confirmed on the same day that discussions are underway with Taiwan People's Party (TPP) presidential candidate Ko Wen-je.
The KMT is sending Secretary-General Justin Huang and Hou's campaign executive officer King Pu-tsung, to discuss cooperation matters. On the other side of the table are Ko's campaign chief Huang Shan-shan and campaign office chair Chou Yu-hsiu.
Tai emphasized that cooperation is not just idle talk, but needs to be explained to the public. Through debates, the public can accept candidates' core values to conduct a fair opinion poll, he added.
He also urged the KMT to finalize a time for further discussions within a week and respond promptly.
