TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Lion Travel Service smoothly transported a group of 29 Taiwanese tourists from Israel on Monday (Oct. 9) amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
This was achieved despite the ongoing conflicts between Israel and Palestine, which had intensified when Palestinian Islamic organization Hamas launched an attack on Oct. 7, resulting in over 1,100 fatalities.
Upon arrival, group members admitted that despite the alarming situation, they observed a notable calmness among the Israeli locals during the war and that there was no palpable tension.
One tourist issued a cautionary note stating, "We in Taiwan lead a too relaxed life, with little awareness of potential dangers. We hope Taiwan never faces a similar situation."
According to the Tourism Administration, Artisan Tour and Yung Shin Travel Service still have tourists in Israel, totaling three groups and 74 individuals.
Yung Shin Travel Service is closely monitoring flight schedules to arrange an early return for customers. Uni Travel Services also reported that one group of 21 individuals adapted their travel plans to avoid entering Israel.
