TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwanese tour groups were stranded in Jerusalem as Hamas extremists attacked Israel on Oct. 7.
Among five stranded tour groups, Lion Travel Service has managed to fly their groups back to Taiwan, while Artisan Tour anticipates their teams to fly back from Jordan on the night of Oct. 11.
However, Yung Shin Travel Service canceled part of its tour's itineraries and remained in Jerusalem.
Members of the Yung Shin tour group reportedly proposed repatriating via Jordan, a suggestion that the travel agency rebuffed due to visa complications.
This has raised concerns among the stranded tourists, who criticized the travel agency for its dismissive attitude and accused it of compromising their safety to cut costs.
With 22 flights already canceled, tourists are increasingly anxious about the potential for further delays in their return. The lack of proactivity from travel agencies further exacerbates travelers' fears.
They expressed concerns over a growing number of flight cancellations that could further prolong their stay in the conflicted region
