HANGZHOU (TVBS News) — Taiwanese weightlifter Kuo Hsing-chun snatched a bronze medal in the women's 59-kilogram division of the 19th Asian Games held in Hangzhou on Monday (Oct. 2).
Despite battling through an injury, Kuo successfully snatched 101 kilograms and lifted 126 kilograms in the clean and jerk for a combined 231 kilograms, placing third behind China's Lo Shi-fang and North Korea's Kim Yeon-koung.
Before the competition, Kuo expressed confident control over her injury. She had been optimizing her overall condition and aimed to put her best form in the spotlight.
Kuo's victory in Hangzhou adds to an already impressive medal tally after winning gold in the women's 58-kg division at the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games and the women's 59-kilogram category at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
