TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The 60th Golden Horse Awards are 60 days away, and the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival Executive Committee announced on Tuesday (Sept. 26) that director Ang Lee would serve as the president of the jury.
The announcement marks Lee's return to the role after a decade, having previously acted as the Jury President for the 50th Golden Horse Awards.
"I look forward to carefully watching and thoroughly discussing with all the judges. See you at the 60th Golden Horse Awards!" Lee said with anticipation.
Since 2018, Lee has held consecutive terms as the chair of the Executive Committee and also founded the Golden Horse Master Class.
His directorial accomplishments have been recognized by the Golden Horse Awards in the past, acquiring the Special Jury Award for "Pushing Hands" (1991), the Best Director and Best Original Screenplay for "Wedding Banquet" (1993), and the Best Director Award and Outstanding Taiwanese Filmmaker of the Year for "Lust, Caution" (2007).
The nominees for the 60th Golden Horse Awards will be announced on Oct. 3, and the award ceremony will take place at the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Taipei, on Nov. 25.
