TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Yushan National Park Administration reopened four major trekking trails at Yushan National Park on Sunday (Sept. 10).
The routes include the Batongguan Traversing Trail, Southern Section Two Trail, Xiuguluan Trail, and Mabolasi Crossing Trail.
Despite the reopening, the administration warned of potential geological instability in mountainous areas. Unstable weather patterns and low pressure in the region could catalyze rainfall and provoke rock falls and mountain landslides.
The park's administration also stressed that traveling through the reopened trails requires a long-distance hiking experience.
Other trails affected by typhoons remain under intensive repair, with reopening schedules, conditions, and application approaches yet to be announced by the Yushan National Park Administration.
The move is a welcome sign for nature enthusiasts. Yet, they are advised to proceed with caution, considering the current geological conditions and the necessity of extensive hiking familiarity.
