TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Taipei City Government's Construction Management Office on Friday (Sept. 8) mandated a halt of all activities at seven sites operated by Kee Tai Properties Co. Ltd. and Fu I Construction(福益營造). The decision came after Kee Tai Properties posed structural damage at a site in Taipei.

Several residential buildings tilted and subsided on Thursday (Sept. 7) at 8 p.m. on Lane 94, Dazhi Street, in Zhongshan District, due to a nearby construction site not completing foundation work. Residents were quickly evacuated, and no one was hurt.

Moreover, Dominican International School's northside walls are also tilted, with cracks on the sports track field, leading the school to suspend classes on Friday.

To alleviate the difficulties evacuated residents face, the city government has implemented a resettlement team to assist with housing needs during this crisis. And the authorities have initiated an inquiry into the matter, determined to find the cause of the incident.

The city government is also aiding in emergency repairs, given the profound public safety implications at the site.
